Not only that, but most of the krill surrounding the bergs die natural deaths and float to the bottom of the sea-taking witht ehm the globewarming carbon dioxide pulled from the atmosphere by the phytoplankton they fed on.

I got this from the TIME magazine and I found the phrase ' die natural deaths'  to be quite weird. I mean I have neven seen this kind of structure before. Could you explain it to me, please?

Thank you.

Best wishes,

Success - it is not the position where you are standing, but which direction you are going.

die a natural/violent/agonizing death

Did she die a natural death (=did she die naturally, or did someone kill her?)?

This is from Longman Online. Hope this helps.

Hi,

die natural deaths

Her's another small comment.

The repetition in this structure is often used to add a bit of emphasis or style or rhetoric, eg

die a . . .  death

dream a . . .   dream

smile a . . .  smile

Best wishes, Clive
