Hi, Chiquillo!

I'll try to answer your question in more detail at some point, but as an English teacher, I can't help but point out that the idiom (at least in American English) is "the best movie IN the world".   Just off the top of my head, I would tend to vote for "Gone With the Wind".  What a beautiful, fabulous tear-jerker that movie is!!  And Clark Gable is such a wonderful villain/hero.  But I've seen so many thousands of great films, that it's hard to select just one as the best.  I'll think about it and add some more candidates when I have more time.

Best wishes from Mannheim, Germany,

hi Cyndee,,

thanks for your suggestion and help..

what do u think about " One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest",,it s one of my choices,,i feel admiration of Jack Nicholson.. i usually don t like US movies, producted from Holywood.,but "Gone With the Wind" and its derivatives such as "Barton Fink" have necessity to watch..

and i ve watched "im juli" by fatih akın yesterday,,a nice love story begins from hammburg..it s so nice..

bye..

I saw 2 great movies last week. The first is a brazilian movie called ' City of God' and the second is a movie from Mexico called "Amores Perros'( I think this means dog lovers but my Spanish is alittle hazy).

They're good but its hard to beat 'Casablanca'. If you watch one movie in your lifetime make it this one. Also the 'Die Hard' series( lets not pretend that we all didnt like it).

Anyway. Enough from me.

I can't think of a single one but;; The Sheltering Sky, Natural Born Killers, Fight Club, The Pianist. Can't remember all at once. I should add this recently watched excellent movie: Gegen Die Wand (Duvara Karsi). Not sure of what the English title is.

''The Sound of Music''. There is a certain innocence prevailing in all the characters throughout the movie.

I can't just tell which one is the best to me...why don't we group them by genre? In that way everyone could tell what is his favourite genre, and which one is the best to him in that genre. What do you guys think? Anyway, for me a James Bond movie always came first, until I watch all the releases.
