Hello, My name is William and I'm from Quebec in Canada so my first language is french but I am learning English at school and I need your help to explain me which verb is the correct answer. Don't just tell me the answers I know them already but I need to understand this exercise. Thanks.

1. Bees make, makes honey.

2. Tomatoes needs, need lots of sunshine to grow.

3. Do, Does the people in your neighbourhood help each other.

4. There is, are some people already in line for the movie.

5. Everybody always comes, come to class on time.

6. Everyone in the class is, are paying attention.

7. The dishes on the counter is, are dirty.

8. Each person needs, need to bring identification.

Well then, let's see your answers first, William.  The rule being tested here is singular subject takes singular verb (The hat is brown) and plural subject takes plural verb (The hats are brown).
