I just saw The Davinci Code today with friends and I say it's a very entertaining movie. I liked it a lot. You certainly get your money's worth. It's about 2.5 hours long.

As for matters of "faith"; I don't think they have that much relevenace to my everyday life. I don't feel compelled by faith or lack of faith either way. All these events happend 2000+ years past. The only things that matter is that humanity is here today and where we are going tomorrow.

I don't need any religious dogma or doctrine to give my life meaning or foundation. Humans are the masters of their own destinies according to how they wish it to be! One moment you are alive and the next moment you are dead! That's all there is, nothing more, nothing less. I used to be one of the so called "faithful" until I became independent minded.-RL

I haven't seen the film yet but was compelled to read the book because of the mass media coverage, being brought up as a roman catholic and never being able to question what has been told i found the book a breath of fresh air. I know it wasnt all based on fact, but it really has made me think more about what i believe in, i think the catholic church has such a narrow minded view of anythink that does not co -incide with there way of thinking, surely a religion which has the freedom to look into the past and discover, the true meaning of why we are all here isn't a bad thing, and yet all i've heard on the news is preists and cardinals dismissing the book as blasphemy, totally paphetic. Anyway thats my opinion, love to hear more of all yours.

thanks for reading..Chris London,England

I've seen this film and I have some point of view different to yours.Louvre in the film doesn't give me a deep impression but it seems made me frighten. the girl , the heroin is very nice with her attitude, her appearance, her voice and her tact in dealing with people.Da Vinci is really an impressive film. It reminds me of La Joconda with Mona Lisa's mysterious smile . Further more ,I feel interested in Leonard Da vinci. He's really an artist , scientist and writer. I like the best his career asan engineer. In my country ,Long Co Don and Quoc Hai had made light airplanes with some devices easily to find. Long Co Don is a doctor because oer's will. His father was a doctor in underground air -raid shelter in the war. It's a dangerous job. All his life was a devotion to his patients.Long Co Don has a passion to fly. So, he quitted his job to learn flying as a pilot. His light aiplane with a low price could help people to diminish difficulty of hard job in agriculture,to rescue people safely from accidents on the sea ,in the gorge or the chasm. Besides his airplane-making , he is the chief of the parachute club with a lot of painters as members. Some people may have jalousy with his happy life but they don't think about his father's sacrifice.

The end of Da vinci is very nice. It's different from other films. For example:In the film "The hero", "The promise", "The final fantasy," they always fly in the sky. Or in the entire modern film , they always live happily or they will die.

One thing I don't particularly like is the legend of Jesus Christ . As you see, Jesus Christ, the only son of our god is really a handsome man. He is an ideal idol of some women. Even the sisters, they always joke: My lover is Jesus Christ. "The thorn bird" spoke ill of the father and received a lot of objection and this time ,Jesus Christ. Whatever reflection, the story is really a deserving film which was awarded" a gold palm" by the international festival Cannes.

Before watchng this film, I read some posts. Some of them are talking about the authenticity of the story, the others are criticizing its reverse to the christianity. I don't belief in Christianity or Muslism even Buddhism. However, I consider the film is great. At least, there are sth new for you to think about. The movie introduces the other side of the history to us. We also know more about the notable scientist Darvin. The desire for the result drags me to finish the film. It is triumphant. The intelligent actress is charming.

If you actually read and understand the book, or even see the film, you will know that Brown does not suggest that Jesus escaped from Jerusalem. He states that Mary was pregnant with his child at the time of the crucifixion - thus carrying forward his bloodline into a new generation. Another thing you got wrong is that Brown didn't just "suggest" that the Knights Templar were not protecting a mere cup, but made clear that he belives that the "holy grail" was in fact the "royal" blood line of Jesus and not a cup. Brown's storytelling made this clear. And actually, the decorative "sweetcorn" on Rosselyn Chapel was known from Egyptian times. I agree that you have to read a little history...and read for better comprehension.
