The human rights situation

The human rights situation of the country has deteriorated further after the imposition of the state of emergency. Over the last few months, we have been continuously receiving disturbing reports of arbitrary arrest and detention, extrajudicial killings, torture and death in custody of the security forces. The international community must step up pressure on the regime to stop abuse of human rights of its citizens and restore democracy and rule of law.
