What do you think about these statements:

Stalin as the head of country acted fully rationally. Stalin was an effective  manager and the mass terror was an efficient tool of country development.

The Holodomor (the famine that took place in Soviet Ukraine (1932-1933)) was only caused  by the weather conditions, not by planned  authorities' actions.

The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, was only a response to The Munich Agreement

The entry of the Soviet army into Polish territory in 1939 was Ukraine and Belarus liberation.

The Katyn forest massacre was a just/fair  revenge for  the death of thousands of Red Army soldiers in Polish captivity after Polish-Soviet War in 1920.

These conclusions come from a new Russian school textbook for secondary school children (The history of Russia 1900-1945).

Interpretations.

You know, it's not a surprise that some of our new textbooks are... oh well, how shall I say it politely... are kind of debatable. All you have to do is to keep that in mind and never rely on a single source.

By the way, it proves that there is lots of so called "freedom of speech" in Russia, and completely different points of view can exist officially, lol.

Ruslana, it could be called freedom of speech if it wasn't the main textbook in grade 11 in Russia.
I'm worried where Russia will go headed by people brought up on such books.

Dominik, take it easy.
I doubt that all the previous textbooks were an example of the undoubtful truth.
By the way, it's not the "main" textbook. Teachers of history can chooce a textbook out of 20 ones officially available. So the one we're talking about is not "compulsory", its' optional.

Domitiс , discussion about Stalin and his role in history is wide and very cruel in Russia today.
Both side use history fact's as his tool for blame opponents , achievement's of Stalin and number of his victims changed according with political sympathy of author's of history works.
This textbook is just one shell of this dumb war , and your article  - another .
I cannot find in internet full text of  textbook, and I cannot say exactly what he contained , but such sort of simplification of hard problem always incorrect .

P/S/ Its ISU-152 , and i have some problem whith login.
About textbook -  printed only 1 000 exemplar's and he cannot be "base textbook" in Russia
