Hi, everybody.

When I want to issue an invoice and put a certain customer's name on it how should I describe this process:

Should I say: "establish the invoice in the name of (someone)"
or : "issue an the invoice under someone's name" ??

thank you

Hi Damalord,

Use the verb invoice: 'Invoice XYZ Corporation for the amount of $123.'

Should " make out an invoice in the name of XXX company" be okay?Smile [:)]

That's a bit long-winded. You could just write, 'Invoice XXX company for $500.'

I see, is the word " invoice" a verb here?

Yes, it's a verb.

'Invoice' has these two senses according to WordNet dictionary:

No [N] a statement of money owed for goods or services; "he paid his bill and left"; "send me an account of what I owe"
[v] send an invoice to; "She invoiced the company for her expenses"
