No one else was on the main street as Benjamin passed the closed shops, finally stopping at a pizza parlor and stepping into a telephone booth on the sidewalk. He reached into his pocket for a dime. As he put the coin into the slot he could clearly see the telephone by the moonlight, without closing the door to turn on the light.
