I think the longest word is SMILES.

Because there's a mile between the first letter and the last one. Wink [;)]

Are you sure that that is a real word?

hi friends

i would like to know whtz the longest word in english without vowels. the word i know is RHYTHM. any one who knows a longer word is welcome to reply.

Most everyone who paid attention in 1st grade remembers that "the vowels in English are a, e, i, o, and u, and sometimes y and w".  This is one of the cases where 'y' is a vowel.  'sky' is another example.  The only word in English that I know of without any vowels is 'nth' as in the ultimate.  It is only recently recognized as a word, however.

The longest word in the English language without the 5 common vowels is nymphfly.  Coming in second place are rhythm and szyzygy. Wikipedia has an article on the debate over the longest word in English, which you can read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_word_in_the_English_language
