Hi,

The more points a pupil gets, the better chance he or she has of placing the winning bid for an Agnes b coin bag or a Bathing Ape key holder.

Why isn't there a 'the' in front of chance?
Can I add it to the sentence?

Thanks in advance

In this form, "chance" is already modified by "the" + "better", so no.

But in the following rewrite "the" is necessary:

«The more points a pupil gets, the better will be the chance of his placing the bid...»
