sometimes weird things do happen!!
I am currently reading 'the two towers', and actually read yesterday the chapter contening your quote!! ("Sleep! I feel the need of it. Yet my axe is restless in my hand. Give me a row of orc-necks and room to swing and all weariness will fall from me!" :d)

A film that I can't forget is "the pledge", with Jack Nicholson. Has anybody seen it? He was right, quite right, and an incident or rather an accident prevented the others to see that, so his life is ruined...
So many things can depend on a meaningless fact, it's scary.
That's why I offer a smile to people as often as I can. You never know.

hI wistiti, don't you think that affecting some feeling that you already don't have is far more scary than inevitable fact of having trifling enemies?
It is called ALIENATION

Hi, Guest,
I'm afraid my poor alienated mind can't follow you there... Crying [:'(]
Could you be more explicit?
Thanks!

Hi wistiti, I thought I was not implicit when I was saying if you offer people 'a studied' smile
as often as you can you may become unable to distinguish a true smile from deliberate one, inside. Though it is a little private text, you can forget it.

Movies, like books can impact on people and do have the potential to change them. Most movies that are made only set out to entertain and make lots of money.
I have a friend who when he saw 'Chariots of Fire' was inspired by it. As a result of his changed attitude, he followed his dream. He left his job as a window salesman, went back to study, became an architect and now is a millionaire. That movie certainly changed his life.

One movie that certainly changed my perceptions was "A Beautiful Mind". Although the portrayal of the Schizophrenic's mind was rather different from the book(which I spent three gruelling days reading), it was an extremely graphic insight into the life of someone with any mental disability.

Another such movie was in Hindi, so only the Indians in here would be aware of it, unfortuantely. It is called "Black", and is loosely based on the life of Helen Keller. It tells the story of a blind-deaf-mute. Extremely touching.
