I want to ask about the plural of "Bounty", meaning the sweet with chocolate covered coconut creme. Do we write Bounties or Bounty's?
Hope somebody can help me.
Sisse
Hi Sisse,
It's a little harder with proper nouns to form plurals. Back in the days of the Sony Walkman, did you have two Walkmans or two Walkmen? You can argue either way for Bountys or Bounties. (I cannot make a case for Bounty's at all!) Perhaps going to the manufacturer's Web site and seeing how they refer to it would give you the answer.
Hi guys,
It's only a problem in writing, of course, not in speaking.
I'd say that native speakers tend to avoid these tricky questions by using a phrase like 'two bounty bars'.
