Many churches baptise infants.
One advantage of this is that the parents and children develop a stronger
sense of unity, by sharing the same religion.
Another one is that the churches can increase the number of believers.
Consequently they could make profits and gain bigger voices in politics.
On the other hand, the disadvantage of infant baptism is that
it could violate the freedom of religion and thought which are guaranteed
by many democratic constituions.
Psychologists say that childhood experiences affect individual's later personality.

Give me your opinion about this issue.

Psychologists say lots of things. I am sure many of them mean well. Often they point out what they think is the problem but provide few solutions. The human psyche is not so easy to understand and I would be very choosy about whose help I would seek. I think some therapists do excellent work and some can do great harm. Baptism makes you a member of the Christian family and as one knows one can opt out any time.

It is natural for children to be brought up in their parents' religion, in the same way that it is natural for them to eat the same sort of food, wear the same sort of clothes, have to watch the same sort of TV, ride in the same car, go on holiday to the same place etc etc.  It is part of being a family. It is ridiculous to say that this would be harmful - surely to exclude a child from the culture of the rest of the family would be more likely to cause harm.

Of course, as a child grows older no-one can control that child's thoughts.  They may or may not choose to continue following the parents' religion.

Little babies are innocent and do not need to be baptized(see Matt.18). All unbaptized babies go straight to heaven when they die. Babies do not inherent the sin and guilt of Adam's sin. Also, it's better for them to choose baptism when they are old enough to understand it because then they will be stronger Christians having made a personal decision.

'Psychologists say that childhood experiences affect individual's later personality'. Duh. I guess Dick the Butcher  never met any, or he might have said, 'The first thing we do, let's kill all the psychologists'.

Being baptised has nothing to do with sin it is to do with becoming a member of the Christian family.

I found this very helpful. Thanks

Hi,

Well, I'm totally against of the baptism in early childhood. We are not authorized to mark anyone without their consent so it's a crime against mankind and really big sin because the one who is getting it doesn't know it. We should refrain from tagging people like this and let themselves decide what they want to be  when they are matured.

here's something to refresh your vision, mind and soul:
