The telephone has come a long way since its early days.
...                  has progressed a lot ...

Hi,
Do both of the above mean about the same to you? Thanks.

Hi,
Yes.
Both sound rather casual, the former more so.

I would prefer second one. "Come one's way" means "to leave, to make off, to decamp, to get out of" often in offensive way and in imperative. Let us wait for another opinions. Smile

To me, "has come a long way since..." doesn't mean the same as "come one's way"
It's more colloquial for "has progressed a lot", but I may be wrong!  :)
