Dear Sara,

What exactly is it that you don't believe? That the United States has increasingly stepped up its role as world police? Or something your previous poster mentioned? Would you mind clarifying your position?

It is difficult to debate someone whose position is at best unclear and at worst confused.

I doubt that it is your purpose to muddle the debate, so would you mind clarifying? It would make for a much more constructive debate, in my opinion.

(Incidentally, the first letters of the words united and states should be capitalised... like this;  United States).

thank you for the correction mr anon, but why do you step up your role as grammar police?
anyway i state it again a bit differently, it's because the US could but no other countries could.

Is it fair then for me to assume that you believe we all need an American-style World Police? I don't think we do. If American-style police were any good, then why does the United States have such appalling crime statistics, many of which are the worst in the world? Is it because there are Bin Ladens and Saddam Husseins under every bed - armed to the teeth with weapons of mass destruction?

I put it to you that the country most armed with weapons of mass destruction is the United States itself! I also put it to you that the worst possible thing for the world right now would be a United States-style police force! Everywhere the United States flexes its martial muscles, the undertakers are busy!
