Mr. Tom“
(on the phone)
If you are traveling, should I call you later? or
Please call me later I am traveling right now.
”
If you call, you need not mention traveling at all. The person on the phone will tell you if he cannot talk at that time.
If you are called and you can't talk or don't want to talk, you can say one of these:
I'm on the road ((right) now). ***
I'm in the car ((right) now).
I'm driving ((right) now).
I can't talk ((right) now).
followed by one of these:
Can I call you back later?
I'll call you back later, OK?
Is it OK if I call you back later?
Is is all right if I call you back later?
I'll have to call you back later.
I'll call you back later.
(Note, above, that you would offer to call them. If you depend on them to call you again later, they may find that you are still driving, and you would be bothered once again by another call.)

*** A structure like ((right) now) means you can say now, right now, or nothing at all. Items in parentheses are optional.
