I thought I would leave a response. Stephen Krashen and Jim Cummins both support a theory that draws distictions between language acquisition and language learning. Data gathering used to support findings discussed by Krashen and Cummins are derived from bilingual education, but the essence of the theory is sound (and simple).
If you've already collected some info. on Krashen and Cummins , great. If not, do some searches and see what comes up.
