<After an examination, two classmates talk to each other>

A: How was the test?

B: If I had not studied last night, I would have flunked this course. Hopefully, I won't have to retake it.

Does the third conditional here suggest, he studied last night, he didn't flunk/ he passed the course?

Thanks!

Yes, but the time is confused if we accept the viewpoint in the second sentence ( Hopefully, I won't have to retake it), which suggests that B doesn't know whether s/he flunked or passed.
