I will REALLY appreciate any corrections to my posts, whether it be grammar, glossary, or just something that could elevate my style. Thank you.

Hi,
you can say it either way, it depends what you "feel" is better. Native speakers tend to use a singular verb in most cases, though. Smile [:)]

If you don't have a sense of humor already, it's about time you buy one.

Hi,

Please re-read all the posts in the thread I posted earlier, and especially this excerpt from The American Heritage® Book of English Usage.
Things in life and in language can be much more than just black & white. Smile [:)]

There are bugs in English grammar systems while handing number problems, as I observed, but as for this very sentence, I vote for know.

Hi,

I'd personally say I'm one of those kids who think, too.

I only wanted to say that, if native speakers and writers choose to use both  and "the use of the singular verb in these constructions is common, even among the best writers" (quoting the American Heritage), maybe we (ESL learners) shouldn't decide what is right or wrong Smile [:)]

I'd say either "knows" or "know", I can't make up my mind. What I would choose would probably depend on the context...

By the way, Tanit, don't you use both the singular and the plural in Italian too? I have no problems with "E' una di quelle persone che sa/sanno..." --> "He's one of those people who knows/know..."
Both the singular and the plural are acceptable to me in Italian (and as I said, in English too). Smile [:)]

Yes, in Italian I'd use them both ... but maybe I'd say:

"E' una di quelle persone che sa/sanno ..." --> "He's one of those people who knows/know..."
"E' uno di quelli che sanno..." --> "He's one of those who know..."
(don't ask me why ... I don't know!!!)

However, in English I tend to use a plural verb.

Cheers!
