 QID - 4 times a day. QD ("quaque die" - latin) - once a day

Well, that's an important difference!  Thanks for pointing that out, Vlad, and welcome to the Forum!

Hi,

 In the United States medical system:

bid= 2 times a day

tid = 3 times a day

qid= 4 times a day

They are latin abbreviations. So basically it says: 3-4 times a day, 2-3 times a day.

Hope this helps. : )

Hi. I am a nursing student. We often utilized the abbreviations "BID, TID, QID" in the hospital.

BID -- two times a day

TID -- three times a day

QID -- four times a day

PRN -- when needed

Please refer to Medical Terminology books for further clarifications as needed.

Hope this helps you.

Have a great day.
