Hello Faisal, one of the most universal standards these days is the
TOEFL
test (if you are or will be a university student) or the
TOEIC
test (if you are a businessman). I highly recommend it for getting an basic idea of your English level.

Hi Guys. Thanks even those who all visited on this page. Guys that is the way how you learn or teach.Everyperson had better share his experiences if they want to learn something. If you think you havnt got any special opinion to give on these kind of questions so dont worry but try to give your suggestions .Might be the way we all make that could be the helpful for so many other people. So it would really appreciatable if people share what ways they adopt to update their knowledge.
Thanks

Faisal,
I'm not sure what it is you're really asking for but I suspect you want to know just how good your English is. An easy way to do this is to take one of the tests that accompany the ESL books. The Interchange series has a test that does this. If you really want to go all the way, you may take the British Council/UCLES tests for English proficiency. If you REALLY REALLY want to go big time, you can go for the IELTS or the TOEFL exams depending if you prefer British English or American.
