I liked the first time... It's a pity David Villa is not playing any longer.

I didn't like the first time at all because the Russians did NOT seem to be playing! The second time is its proval - 2 goals... Well, I don't know what happened to the team, to the spirit of the team, but it's not the same class of the game as they showed with Holland and Sweden. The Spanish guys have been playing really better so far, I must say.

P.S. While I was writing, the score became 0:3.

Congrats to the Spanish team! (D) Drinks They showed a better game than the Russians indeed. To my mind, our guys were just idle at the field. (8-)) Rolleyes

Commiserations and congratulations respectively...what happened to Arvashin? His price just went down by several million £.

I was wondering about that the whole second half! Where was the team that beat Sweden and Holland??

I was hoping that Russia would play a better game against Spain than the first game. The two past victories and the presence of Arshavin gave me that hope, but unfortunately Russia ended up playing even worse! At least I thought so.

Nevertheless, getting a bronze medal and showing beautiful football in at least two games deserves a lot of credit. The Russian team outperformed my expectations by far, and I think it's hard to deny that overall the tournament was a success, despite the tough losses to Spain.

The Spanish team played great; I hope David Villa is back against Germany, and I hope Spain trounces Germany :).
