Ruslana Well, I don't know what happened to the team, to the spirit of the team, but it's not the same class of the game as they showed with Holland and Sweden.
I was wondering about that the whole second half! Where was the team that beat Sweden and Holland??
I was hoping that Russia would play a better game against Spain than the first game. The two past victories and the presence of Arshavin gave me that hope, but unfortunately Russia ended up playing even worse! At least I thought so.
Nevertheless, getting a bronze medal and showing
beautiful football in at least two games deserves a lot of credit. The Russian team outperformed my expectations by far, and I think it's hard to deny that overall the tournament was a success, despite the tough losses to Spain.
The Spanish team played great; I hope David Villa is back against Germany, and I hope Spain trounces Germany :).
