Hi people!

Which would be best?:

1. Your homework is always so challenging to me!

2. Your homework is always so challenging for me!

I can't work out the different uses of "to" and "for" with pronouns.

Thanks a lot!

Hello

I think we can say both "challenging to me" and "challenging for me" in the same sense.

This thread and this thread will be helpful to you.

___ is ___ for me to ___
___ is ___ to me
___ is ___ for me

Let's compare:

Situation - You have just arrived with your spouse at the airport.  You are ready to start your vacation now, and your spouse says to you:

S: Look at this map, it shows our hotel is way over here (pointing to the hotel on the map).
YOU: Oh!!  That is too far (1)___ (2) to/for (3) ___ / (nothing) / us (4) for / to

Possible answers:

1. That is too far TO carry the luggage TO
2. That is too far FOR us TO carry our luggage TO
3. That is too far FOR us

The less you give, the less information you have to work with.  If it is already understood, then you can probably shorten it.
