Help needed urgently How do I pp a letter? in other words if Peters name is at the bottom of the letter how do I (Juliette) sign it for him?? Thanks

Sign your name where he would sign his and then by his typed name at the bottom of the letter type in small case pp. Good luck I hope he thinks you are very clever.

p.p. or per pro. = "per procurationem". This means "by/through the agency of". The agent is the person who is signing the letter on someone else's behalf.

Thus if a PA is signing on behalf of an absent person, the correct form is as follows:

      Yours sincerely

         p.p. [signature of PA]

      Name of Absent Person

Many people get this wrong.

Thank you, MrP. That clears up the confusion pretty nicely.

I wish to send a letter from a lady I work with.  Do I sign it with a pp and then her name or do I put my name?
