Error Recognition:

(A) To not ask questions or (B) to be too curious are bad qualities (C) to have and cause people (D) miss out on promotions.

The given answer is A, but I think D is a little weird too. I've learned the verb phrase such as "to cause someone to do something". So could any advisor please explain it?

Please advise.

I think you are right. D is the problem as it should be 'to miss out'.

I made a mistake. The given answer is D, not A. So what is wrong with A? Please advise.

Nothing is wrong with A.

Sorry, but what I mean is, should we put not before to most of the time? For example:

I asked him not to take that offer.

Please advise again.

Dear advisors

Please help me with my question. Many thanks.

As the subject of the sentence, should I use Not to ask questions or To not ask questions? Why or why not?

If you ask me, the split infinitive in A.

Should be not to ask questions -- Do not split the infinitive if it is not necessary.

Although very common, some grammarians still believe that splitting infinitives is bad grammar.

D is perfect

Not to ask questions or to be too curious are bad qualities (to have) and cause people to miss out on promotions.

(to have is redundant but not wrong)

Some people think that splitting an infinitive with the word not is not a serious error, or even indeed, that it is perfectly correct!  I am not one of them. Smile [:)]

So in this case, most/ some native speakers will think either To not ask questions or Not to ask questions sounds fine to them. Is that correct? Please advise.
