Hi, can you explain this sentence to me. I cant understand "taking the liberty of securing" part... What's the meaning of it.
"Look I like you, so I took the liberty of securing you a pair of these."

I took the liberty = I did something, even though no one had specifically told me to, asked me to, or given me express permission to.

Securing = obtaining, getting, ordering, buying... It's not clear from the context which.

If you are going to join me at a restaurant and I get there first, and I know you like Diet Coke, when you arrive, there may already be a Diet Coke at your place, because I took the liberty of ordering you something to drink.
