They drove through the town center and went north.

Is the town center synonymous with the city center? Thanks.

Hi,

A 'city' is is usually a lot bigger than a 'town'. There are also often differences in the way the government is organized.

A city has much more area as compared to a town. A city is cosmopolitan and you will usually find at least one airport in a city.
