My guess is that it is a fragment of a sentence. I've never heard it before in my life. Perhaps you may want to post the entire passage so that people can better help you.

The only google reference to this phrase is an album name:
Into the Great Wide Open is the eighth studio album by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, first released in July 1991

Yeah, it is phrase from this album and I need to translate it, but i can't even find meaning for that in English
