Can you tell me if this sentence makes any sense? I'm trying to translate from Polish and do not know if it will make the same sense in English:

Woman’s social and cultural conditioning according to Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Catholicism

Woman’s position according to Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Catholicism, and their social and cultural conditioning

Thanks,

krys

Hi Krys,

Can you tell me if this sentence makes any sense? I'm trying to translate from Polish and do not know if it will make the same sense in English:

Women’s social and cultural conditioning according to Islam, Buddhism, Judaism and Catholicism

Woman’s position according to Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Catholicism, and their social and cultural conditioning

These seem like titles. They are not full sentences because they have no main verb.

I prefer #1.

Best wishes, Clive

Without the original, this is how I interpret your translation:

Social and cultural conditions imposed on women by Islam, Judaism, Catholicism and Buddhism and the way in which this affects their role in society.

How about this one guys, does it make sense?

Specifics of the family and marriage model in today’s Christian and Far East culture.

another title.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

It seems a bit wordy to me. How about just Family and marriage models in Christian and Far Eastern culture ?

However, the main problem here seems to me that you are suggesting there is no Christian culture in the Far East. Is that really true? Is that the comparison you want to make?
