From out of the galaxy, it would take them at least a couple of hundred thousand years if they are able to travel at very, very fast speeds for a very, very long time. Within the galaxy, thousands all the way to tens of thousands under the same conditions.

1) UFO's / Aliens are two different topics most of the time. 2) Aliens – It’s unlikely we’re alone (“that would be an awful waste of space!” – Film: Contact) 3) 90% of sightings on Earth are man made – there’s no doubt governments play with alien technology they find. 4) Nobody is interested in Alien stuff anymore; X-Files blew all that up so much it deflated. 5) We should be; it’s a great topic. 6) We’ll confirm life existed on other planets soon (20+ years? Just a guess but I’ll put good money on it ) I will put good money on it too because I am sure of that. 18+ years have left, hehe. 7) People still seem to think Alien cultures would fly down here to ‘invade’ our planet. Hmm – anybody seen the size of the universe lately, kinda rules out the hassle needed to do that when you’ve got a billion++ other clean ones (planets) to choose from. Humanity suffer from megalomania, so how would it be possible to think that our planet is not the only one all aliens would like to get for themselves? Nonsense! We are the most interesting part of the Universe, and of course our resources! (As if alines didn't have more advanced sources of energy, haha.) 8) They clearly know we exist and they clearly still treat this place as a minor tourist attraction – perhaps their scientists monitor certain things from time to time. Or some of them look after humans in order not to let us do something that may destroy the planet. For all humans' "intellect", it is quite possible. I mean, sometimes people remind me of children playing with fire and not understanding what they are doing. An adult's hand is pretty necessary in such cases. 9) I’d passively monitor our immune systems and general working physiology; since THAT’s a great technology you wouldn’t want to lose. 10) Aliens are people too.. jeje Hehe ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif) 11) I’m sure there’s an order to all this; with potentially millions of species roaming around there must be some form of ‘policing’ of it. I am sure of that as well. Besides, everything is similar in the world. If people do have some "policing" (or at least attempts to provide it), aliens do have it too. 12) I imagine planets like our own are pretty much left alone till they develop to a point that would be conducive to experiencing a greater understanding. Agree. 13) Popping down right now would throw millions of humans into a state of panic. Oh, that's beyond any doubt. We haven’t stop whining and fighting about religion, power and land yet – aren’t we an attractive bunch!? We are just like little children playing in a sand-box and quarreling on a shovel while making our sand-structures. Do we really pretend to posses reason? Heh, why did people ever decide they possesed reason. I wouldn’t bother with this planet yet – just leave it to sort itself out and hopefully not too many more people will be blown up. 14) We’re 7 billion idiots fighting with each other – pretending there’s this huge amount of difference amongst us. There isn’t, we’re all small, petty and currently not very interesting. That's true, unfortunately. On the other hand, I think we are interesting at least because of the fact we exist. And it is not so insignificant. It’ll probably take another 200 years to come close to sorting out this cr@p (sorry) |

It's interesting that alien entities are always expected to be ahead of us, in evolutionary terms, and so capable of interstellar space flight, etc. But where did they find those extra millions of years to evolve?
(And I'm still not sure why alien spacecraft should need lights on the outside. Is the traffic that bad out there?)

Everything is connected, you know. The 'aliens' have taken quite a liking to our Camel cigarettes (non-filtered, for real aliens). The flashing lights we see are from their frequent use of BIC lighters. Even a minor alien can woof through a pack of twenty in about a minute! Increased sightings are related to the 'alien's' chainsmoking habit having increased their rate of gill cancer. Earth clinics have the most attractive nurses in the universe, making them quite a popular stop on the galactic therapy circuit. Tried making an appointment at Miss Nancy's Outback Steak and Surgery recently? Their booked out till 2170! See, it's all pretty obvious when you know where to look. (Behind you, Sooty! Behind you!)

Correct me if I'm wrong...but that would be using the Disulphide Cranium Geekfactor Isotopic Megalon Crystal Overdrive, right?
(Hey! Someone pass me a nurse.)

I may be wrong, but I believe they prefer Drum Dark as a propulsion fuel. Our research would seem to indicate that, contrary to Miss Nancy's recent claims, Camels are used for exlusively for woofing, oh, and patching the occasional hull rupture.

Ah! Now that takes me back to my days in the Legion.
(It was cold, it was lonely, we were three platoons to a bunk.)

Three platoons sharing one pouch of Bunk? I guess the shortage may have been, in part, due to our visitors' huge consumption, yeah?

I believed in UFOs as crafts coming from other stars when i wa s a kid. After all, when you're a kid, you believe what other people wants you to believe, so slowly, all the magazines dedicated to paranormal subjects started to seep into my brain. Then I spend so many minutes looking at the sky in search of some possible artifact, but the only thing i saw where birds, clouds and planes. Then I started to regard the whole subject from a suspicious perspective. Verily, with all the technology of satellites girding Earth, it seems odd enough that scientists have never been able to capture a pic putting beyond doubt the existance of flyng saucers. So, actually i don't believe on flying saucers coming from other stars
