I live in Indiana, but I once was in Kostroma for about a year and a half. I was wondering if the University where you teach could use some books on a variety of subjects, but in particular, the following--
1. Books in English by C. S. Lewis or about him and his writings, especially the Narnia books (e.g., The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)
2. Books about Christianity, the New Testament, Jesus, Christian ethics, and similar topics
3. A somewhat broad selection of books (often textbooks) about history, geography, education and educational theory, adolescent psychology and development, literature, and so on
The books are informative, but not highly technical. They would be understandable to most English teachers and many English students in Russia. They would be entirely free. Some audio books (tapes) would also be included. Some of the tapes are religious, and some are English novels or peotry (Oliver Twist, Lord of the Flies, the Sonnets of Shakespeare, and other selections).
If you, or the university directors and teachers are interested, I think I could make this happen at no cost to your school. An Orthodox priest, a certain "Father George", suggested that I donate the books about C. S. Lewis. I never did that, and I've been sorry ever since then (about eight years). You can relieve my feelings of guilt, and get some free literature, if you want it.
