Hi, nice folks of EF
- Please send me my statement of account up to date.

- I sent you a message a week ago but have not received your reply up to date.

Is it correct if I use "up to date" in these two sentences to mean up till now and what part of speech is "up to date" in these two sentences?

Are there other words or phrases that mean the same as "up till now" or "up to this day"?

thanks

Hello, Damalord,
Here are the definitions of "up-to-date":

[adj] reflecting the latest information or changes; "an up-to-date issue of the magazine"
[adj] in accord with the most fashionable ideas or style; "wears only the latest style"; "the last thing in swimwear"; "knows the newest dances"; "up-to-date technology"

I'd say it is better paraphrased with "up to this day"

You also have the verb "to update":
[v] modernize or bring up to date; "We updated the kitchen in the old house"
[v] bring to the latest state of technology; in computer technology
[v] bring up to date; supply with recent information

There's "so far", meaning "up to now", but it doesn't carry the meaning of modernity, lastest fashion etc..., and it isn't an adjective. It simply means "from some time in the past til now"

Hello Damalord

I would rephrase your sentences as follows:

1a. Please send me an up-to-date statement of account.

or:

1b. Please send me a statement of my account to date.

2. I sent you a message a week ago but have not received your reply to date.
