Hi, I would like to know the exact meaning of these expressions here:
'He broke Bud's head all the way open, cracked him UPSIDE HIS HEAD with a pistol. After that, Bud started shooting heroin like IT WAS GOING OUT OF STYLE. (...) Then Bud started acting crazy, THROWING FITS and going for weeks not speakingto anyone, ...'

Thanks in advance, Jo.

Upside his head/face = doing physical damage

Going out of style = isn't going to be around much longer....wants to get as much as possible now

Throw fits = reference to epileptic incidents, uncontrolable physical behavior
