I would like to thank you for your help in advance.
I am applying for a PhD Program in Economics in Germany. The deadline is over but I was allowed to send my late application. I would like to do it asap. But I have no experience in writing a letter of motivation. I have tried and here is what I have produced. I am looking forward for some advice.

I am seeking admission with your *** Doctoral Program in Economics & Management Science.
I am a recent graduate in Economics from the ** University of ***. As I handed in my final thesis on the ***th of Mai 2006, I am awaiting in the nearest future my diploma with an expected final grade of 0,0 (German scale). In addition, in 2005 I graduated in Management from the ***University of Economics with a final grade ****.
My studies and my position as student assistant with professor *** at the **** Science Center in ***were a catalyst to my motivation to deal with the questions of economic science in a further doctoral thesis. Professor ****has encouraged me to apply for the ***Program.
In my future research I would like to take a close look at information economics, game theory and family economics. During my work on the final thesis which concerned organizing of donations I have developed passion for fundraising with its all sub-themes. On the one side there are the questions of why do people give money. On the other side there is a need to develop mechanisms which charitable organizations can use to generate more donations as it is assumed that giving is suboptimal.
I am sure that I will well master the graduate program as I was always a hard-working student and I was always successful in my courses. Especially these requiring mathematical and logical thinking were clear and have brought me a lot of satisfaction. I have liked especially microeconomics, econometrics, statistics, game theory and public finance. I am highly motivated to complete graduated studies and I am sure that this motivation would help me to succeed.
