Please accept this letter as an
expression of my strong interest to enter the Masters program in the field of
information systems.
My aim is to work and conduct
research within the Information Technology industry. I would therefore like to
gain a deeper theoretical knowledge in Information Systems and Computer Science.
I am passionate about informatics and information technologies, following
technological developments and seeing their implications. A master's degree
will give me the up-to-date tools and knowledge to be competitive and
competent.
In June 2007 I will graduate from
the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST), first private, English
speaking university in Bosnia
and Herzegovina, majoring in Information
Systems. I will receive a dual degree from the University
of Buckingham in the United Kingdom and
SSST.
While pursuing my degree I have
worked on many group projects related to IS. Some of them are design and implementation
of database for art gallery (SQL), creating computer animations (Maya),
conducting a data mining project using a data mining software tool (Weka),
implementation of online book store(PHP, HTML). These projects, as well as all
other, were strictly limited in time, with tight deadlines. However I have
showed the ability to work under pressure and produce satisfying results.
I conducted my student practice
on development of dynamic web pages within “Djikic Software Development”
company. I was working with scripting engine and CGI program WhizBase. Further
on, I am now working on the graduation project under supervision of Prof. Amer Kadic
and in cooperation with MIM corporation. The project consists of design and
implementation of order management system which will be built after an
extensive research on major order management systems, as well as on the
specific requests made and compiled by the customers and IT personnel. Technology involved is substantial
Oracle SQL programming, some Oracle PL/SQL programming and advanced Cold Fusion
web programming.
Both my academic and work experience have prepared
me well for a career in Information Systems. I am a motivated and ambitious
person, and I like to accomplish tasks as thoroughly and effectively as
possible. I am wiling to adjust to a new culture and to overcome
obstacles.
