Thanks in advance all.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am hereby applying for entrance for the “Masters of Computer Engineering” program in the school of Engineering at the “......” in September 2007. I think that the “.." is the ideal University for me. Currently I am working in an European company named ..., as supervisor of Network Operation Center (NOC).
First of all, I would like to give you some background information about me. I was raised in a metropolitan city called Sylhet, situated in the north-east of Bangladesh. My father had taught me Mathematics, English, Bangla before my primary education started. I studied in two primary schools and two high schools before appearing in S.S.C. exam around greater Sylhet. I got all Government scholarships in my school life.
At primary and high school level I usually stood first. When I was in college I got highest marks in Chemistry which was a record marks and I stood 10th position around 300 students of a renowned college at test exam. Then after completing HSC like others I had to fight with pupils to gain access into University which is totally merit based in my country. Meanwhile, I completed all these steps very successfully and got chance to admit various Universities as well as Medical colleges. Choosing “Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)” was the bravest decision in my life while at the same time relatives, family members pursued to be a doctor.
After getting myself admitted into *** CSE department I was very little familiar with computer. But I coped with computer within a few time. At 1st semester we had a course on C language and at first term test I got very poor marks. However, it changed dramatically afterwards and almost al programming language courses I was the highest scorer, especially at lab exam. I was the quickest while submitting any type of assignment as well as lab evaluation. I had full intention to problem solving at earlier semesters and probably I passed one of the most enjoyable moments of my life. Subsequently, I stood first in number of occurrences in the intra department individual programming contest. At my first group programming contest, I was team leader of my team gained a very promising result among more than 80 teams from different Bangladeshi Universities. I was the second 100, 200, 300 number of problem solver from CSE, SUST at http://acm.uva.es. While problem solving I had to learn various algorithms, data structures, discrete & concrete mathematics before my course started in University. I took Algorithm lab course simultaneously with Data Structure. At 4th semester my favorite teacher Dr. yyy took one sudden test on “Discrete Mathematics” and I obtained 75 out of 75 while most of my fellows got below 30, some even zero. At 6th semester I wrote my first paper on Operating System while analyzing behavior of thread and child processes under Linux platform. At 7th semester I chose WDM as my Undergraduate Thesis. My supervisor inspired me as well as my group to think about Optical communication. Our focus at 7th semester was on existing optical network study and at 8th semester was designing new protocol to remove vulnerabilities of existing network. My intention was to design a protocol which is managed to survive automatically from failure at different layers. At the same time I wrote second research paper “Multilayer Protection and Survivability in WDM Optical Network” which is already published in a Journal of Bangladesh. Latter, my first paper was accepted in a conference in Malaysia (CITRA 2007), and the title was “Analysing Child and Thread behaviour running under a Multitasking OS” and now waiting for being published. For both paper my thesis supervisor was co-author and for first one my other thesis group mates were co-author. I received highest marks among 100s of my classmates in my batch at Fiber Optic lab course and it was approximately 100%.
I was attracted to science and new technologies from my childhood. When I completed my graduation I was looking for a country as well as University where I can fulfill my requirements. Learning new things is a fun for me. I want to achieve MSc degree from a reputed University which will open new horizon for research and development activities. My research interest includes AI, Optical Communication, Digital System, Databases, and Operating Systems etc. I was searching a University like “....” and it matched with my all demands.
Italy is a developed country with a great history. Italian culture and language are the two things that have really fascinated me and that I am keen on learning about. Also, “....” currently ranks among the topmost universities in Europe for engineering study. I would certainly learn a lot, not only in Algorithm, Database, Robotics, Digital logic design, which are my field of interest but also this degree will strengthen my career. In addition, working and attending this master course, I will have opportunities to meet people from various nations and cultures, offering me different points of view and contributing to my flexibility and creativity, besides the cultural and language gains.
But one of the blockages at this stage, in my having a great learning experience at “Politecnico De Milano”, is funding of expenses. I come from a middle class family and my father can afford a part of but not the full expenses (details of which have been enclosed). Hence, I would certainly need a scholarship to start a new event in “....”.
I hope that I will be accepted as an applicant and a beneficiary of the Scholarship Program in the 2007-08 academic years. I am confident that I am qualified and prepared to meet all requirements of the scholarship. I would be grateful if you could give my application your most favorable consideration
Thank you for considering my application. I would be very pleased to be granted admission for the fall term.
Sincerely yours,
