Hi Shiva,

'Many a times' means nothing but most of the time. For eg: They say that they will give preferance to the first comers, but many a times it does not happen.

regards,

Anju

I don't quite agree. "Many a time" can also imply often >  "Many a time I have walked along this street". nb it is always "time" in the singular with "a"; otherwise it become "Many times", which means the same.

Over 900,000 hits on Google (many being literary quotes) use "many a time [singular]" as a replacement for 'many times [plural].  One might call it an "older expression".
