Hi everyone,

I would like to ask you whether the following sentence is grammatically correct:

It wouldn't be nothing without a woman or a girl. (Seal - It's a man's man's man's world)

Here two negatives - wouldn't & nothing - are used.

Please give your comments.

In English a double negative means a positive, like in maths, but in English it is not often used, preferring to leave the negatives out completely.
"It would be nothing without a woman or a girl."  is how it should be written correctly.  However, people often do not speak correctly.
