If it's spoken by the author, it should be clear. If someone else is reading it aloud, the reader might fail to make it clear, and be misunderstood. Avangi Prepositions

Through the use of inflection, a native speaker would make the meaning clear without the added preposition. But when it's written, the eye can't tell if "through" goes with "going," or if it goes with "the last few months."
