I   want to know if the following sentences are correct, taking into account the use of frequency adverbs (usually, sometimes,....) and the relative pronouns (when,....)

Here I go with the sentences:

When I SEE him, we always GO to a pub

We usually MEET when we Go to work

What happen  with "when" here that always evoke precise action with simple tenses?

Paul and Tim go to London three times a year, but next summer they ARE STAYING/ STAYS at home. My doubt here is what happens with those verbs which  refers to an state and they doesn't have a beginning or an end?

Occasionally he GOES to the cinema, but he GOES to the cinema  at least once a week.

Susan HATES potatoes, because she THINKS/THINKING they ARE bad for her.

Sam can't go to Mexico next summer, so he VISITS/VISITING his grandmother

Hi,

When I SEE him, we always GO to a pub OK

We usually MEET when we Go to work OK. You could also say 'are going ...'

What happen  with "when" here that always evoke precise action with simple tenses? You are dealing with habits/schedules.

Paul and Tim go to London three times a year, but next summer they ARE STAYING at home. My doubt here is what happens with those verbs which  refers to an state and they doesn't have a beginning or an end? The contimuous stresses the duration,as well as the future plan. You could say 'they stay', but it would be much less commonly used. Or you could say 'will stay / is going to stay'.

Occasionally he GOES to the cinema, but he GOES to the cinema  at least once a week. OK

Susan HATES potatoes, because she THINKS they ARE bad for her.

Sam can't go to Mexico next summer, so he will VISIT/ is going to visit (or is VISITING) his grandmother

Best wishes, Clive

Thank you very much Clive, because only with a native speaker like you I can solve different doubts that correspond to the real use of the language.

I'm a teacher for adolecents and adolecents adults and as I'm not in a geographical english area is more difficult to check the real use of the language.

Thanks and my best regards for you

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Try to write a sentence, then post it here, and we'll tell you if it is correct. OK?

Best wishes, Clive
