Thank you for  your time reading this  post.

I got an email and i'm not sure I'm clear with one expression I found in it.
It would be great if someone would explain me what 'vanilla job' expression means.
Here is a context:

Wondering how to turn your vanilla job into a glamorous career? Thinking you're on a road to nowhere with your current position? Open your eyes -- you can leverage the job you have today to find a great opportunity for tomorrow.

Thank you in advance.

Vanilla means plain. Think about ice cream. You have rocky road, mint chocolate chip, toffee coffee crunch... and plain vanilla.

Barbara, who answers in American English. My housekeeping skills attest to the truth of the second law of thermodynamics: Left to themselves, things get more and more random!

Smile [:)] Thank you, Grammar Geek. Now I see.
The list of ice cream you mentioned reminds me Eddy's which I usually have in my refrigerator. Wink [;)]
Thank you very much. Smile [:)]

We have a carton of Edy's espesso chip in our freezer for any given ice cream emergency moment.

And vanilla just happens to be my favorite, second only to French Vanilla, which needs an egg yolk.
