hey i am not into argument anyway..every person has his own perspective towards this , billions of people , billions of tastes, and billions of thoughts on this earth. finally who or what has to suffer or sacrifice its life : the animals! you and i can argue for hours but the animals which are destined to be eaten for pleasure are dying anyway.. who is stopping you to eat it!
the aggressive enzymes are scientifically termed as hyaluronidase and there are many more classes of enzymes which can harm the human body that are produced by animals!

Hi Deepa, welcome back to the forums
Yes, vegetarianism, exciting topic for many reasons.
One of the facets that attracts my interest is the reaction of non vegetarians towards vegetarians when the first group is not used to the the subject. I have witnessed how naturally this practice is viewed in Britain, nobody gets surprised, vegetarian dishes are availbale every restaurant everywhere and nobody questions this choice. In Spain it is quite different, almost every non vegetarian has a reaction, first of surprise, then, asking questions like 'what do you eat then??', and last, at best, becoming worried about your health, suddenly as expert nutritionists bombarding you with the importance of eating meat, something they believe is essential to continue alive. There are possibly vegetarians that bombard others in excces with the excelences of their choice, but, I haven't witnessed this by myself and yes the another.
Another point makes me interested is the contradiction that we humans love some types of animals, protect them, even the ill-treatment is a crime, like abandonning your dog, many feel sadness when moths enter their home and die in a few minutes, we keep in perfect conditions our aquarium, there are governement plans to protect some species, but we feel nothing about cows, porks, fish, suckling lambs, chicks.

If you know of any link that has been found between hyaluronidase and aggression, please tell me. I could not find any evidence of such a link myself.
Main Entry: hy·al·uron·i·dase
Pronunciation: -'rän-&-"dAs, -"dAz
Function: noun
: a mucolytic enzyme that splits and lowers the viscosity of hyaluronic acid facilitating the spreading of fluid through tissues either advantageously (as in the absorption of drugs) or disadvantageously (as in the dissemination of infection), that occurs in many normal tissues, in malignant growths, in invasive bacteria, and in certain venoms, and that is used especially to aid in the dispersion of fluids (as local anesthetics) injected subcutaneously for therapeutic purposes called also spreading factor.

Hyaluronidase has an effect that is far from one of causing aggression. In fact, it is used in some sedative cocktails because it increases cell permeability, making it easier for drugs to be absorbed by animal tissue.
If we did eat meat which contained hyaluronidase, the chemical would not be absorbed into our bloodstream, and we would not suffer its effects. This is because it is broken down into its components inside the stomach, before it enters the intestine (where absorption takes place.)
| If humans were truly meant to eat meat, then we would eat all of our meat raw and bloody. |
|
The cooking process destroys most of the enzymes, bacteria and other organisms found in meat. My dog has contracted worms many times because it ate uncooked meat; this is where I hold an advantage over the animal. I have already pointed this out: humans have evolved in a fundamentally different way to other animals, that is why it is dangerous to draw comparisons between them. We are tool-making and tool-using animals. My dog, or any wolf, tiger or lion for that matter, can neither make nor use tools.
Aside from the debate: you are guilty of plagiarism. Much of the text in your post has been taken from Teachings of the Winged Disk by Phaedron, a source of opinion which is questionable. The author is a quack who describes himself as a "teacher, spiritual counsellor, and expert on ritual Magick," whatever that means. When making such a claim as "humans aren't meant to eat meat," expect to open yourself up to argument.

If they suffer, imagine how the animals suffer.
Perhaps it is true, I don't know for sure because I couldn't verify that by myself so far, while the animal's suffering is easlily demonstrable.
That plants have no nervous system or sensory organs is usually advocated as proof of the lack of suffering in them, but that doesn't convince me totally, who knows.

My family and I are lacto vegetarians. We simply do not eat red meat because it's a healthy lifestyle for us.We have nothing against non-vegetarians and we respect them. However, we find it very offensive when animals are being mistreated. They deserve at least decent food, water, and shelter. It's those big corp franchises that do everything half-assed and have animals eat and live in their own filth. Now that is cruel and immoral. How would those scumbags feel if they swtched places with those animals.

Deepa's post vindicates my stand. Anyway there could be countless arguments and counter-claims on this subject. Its a personal choice if one wishes to be a vegetarian or not. However I can't stop wondering that if men were meant to be non-veg by nature, why do they stick to slaughter of a few harmless animals. They should be eating anything that moves!

ofcourse plants do have life but atleast not a heart that beats like animals have, according to hindu religion one should not harm anything with a beating heart! once during a practical session i had to dessect a frog alive! though it was chloroformed its heart continued beating and imagine my situation...i had to take out the heart with a forceps and keep it in a beaker! the heart continued beating...
