Hi,

Verbs. Underline the correct verb and circle the verbal in each sentence.

The correct verb will be RED and the circle verbal will be GREEN.

I'm not sure what you mean by a 'verbal'. I guess you mean a word that is based on or derived from a verb.

1. Gardening (is, are) Mr. And Mrs. Butala’s favorite hobby.

2. Dean (received, will receive) his swimming medal tomorrow.

3. We (driven, drove) to the lake to fish for trout.

4. The pitcher (has tried, have tried) to throw the runner out.

5. Roberto (chose, chosen) to wait in line for a ticket.

6. The thief (broken, broke) into the office to steal equipment.

7. Mary (have decided, has decided) to move to a new town.

8. The dried spices (smells, smell) wonderful.

All are Ok, except that #8 has a plural subject (spices) and thus needs a plural verb form (smell).

Best wishes, Clive
