What sort of house do you want to have?  Something big?
Well, it ___Can't___ be bigthat’s not important.

Why uses " Can't", not " needn't" ?  It says that being big is not important, but it doesn't mean it has to be NOT BIG, it still can be big as long as it meets other critria.

If their marketing plans succeed, they __ their sales by 20 percent.

The correct answer for this is " will increase", I don't understand why it's not " would increase" since it says " succeed" ?   If it means " If their marketing plans is succeed, they will increase their sales by 20%." , then why it misses " IS" ?  Please explain this structure for me, thanks,.

“  What sort of house do you want to have?  Something big?
Well, it ___Can't___ be bigthat’s not important."needn't be big" =  it's okay if it's not big    "can't be big" =  it must not be big

Why uses " Can't", not " needn't" ?  It says that being big is not important, but it doesn't mean it has to be NOT BIG, it still can be big as long as it meets other critria.

If their marketing plans succeed, they __ their sales by 20 percent. verb = "to succeed", present tense, 3rd person plural, active voice  -  They (plans) succeed.    vs.  verb = "to be", present tense, third person singular  -  It (plan) is + noun complement (predicate nominative)   a success.   I think 1st conditional, (future) "will."

The correct answer for this is " will increase", I don't understand why it's not " would increase" since it says " succeed" ?   If it means " If their marketing plans is succeed, they will increase their sales by 20%." , then why it misses " IS" ?  Please explain this structure for me, thanks,.

Was / Were?  Please explain, thanks. "Every" is the subject of the sentence, and is singular.  Every - - - - was.

Though we don’t know what discussed, yet we can feel the topic____________ . The "what" clause has no  verb.  You could say"Though we don't know what happened," because "to happen" is an intransitive verb.  "It happened" is a sentence, past tense.  But "to discuss" is used transitively here, and needs a direct object.  It's in passive voice, so the D.O. becomes the subject, and we must use the verb "to be."  "What was discussed." is a sentence (or a clause), past tense, passive voice.

"Yet" = "still / nevertheless"  "has been changed" will work in the blank. (Who knows what choices were available?)

Edit.  "we don't know what they discussed" will work as well as "we don't know what was discussed."

Has been changed, Right?  And could someone explain to me the meaning of "yet" in this sentense?

was regarded / has been regarded? pls kindly explain this, thanks.   Has been regarded is the better choice.  Is regarded would also be okay.  Simple past (was regarded) implies that he is no longer considered a hero.

Teenagers __ their health because they play computer games too much. Either one is fine.  Your teacher probably wants "are damaging," to indicate that the action is ongoing.
