Dear 'Wisconsin' and the others,

It's reassuring to read of your success with Novitil since I'm going out into the sun every day and using it. They say that the key to success is consistent everyday use, so keep it up! I agree about the smell - something akin to rotten fish would you say? Fortunately, it dies away after several minutes, but I have to be careful after applying it at work during lunchtime and getting into the lift with anyone! Maybe it's just worse for me since I have a patch next to my nose.

My uncle has ordered Whit-Care capsules from MMH in Hyderabad and will send them on to me. I'll let you know what happens. My feeling is that Vitiligo-Tab is very similar but obviously better if it can be obtained more easily.

Oh and I've only seen one specialist about the complaint, and she prescribed cortizone cream. I used it for a while but was worried when she told me not to use it in the central part of my face because of side affects. Not sure what these are, but I'm not taking any chances. I figure if you're going to use a topical cream, better make it a safe one, even if it makes you smell like an old fisherman for a few minutes!

Regards and keep the info coming,

Peter, Sydney, Australia

Thnaks Guys for the postings..I am basically an Indian and I too have Vitiligo since last almost three years...I am in US ..so as one of you mentioned the Doctors are not good when it comes Asian skin treatment...It was just a small spot three years back and then it started spreading..The Doctors told only to use the Protopyl and Elidel which are just creams for topical application. However, the disease started spreading very quickly to other places..

Finally, in one golden moment, I found in the Net that Neem capsules are good for Vitiligo..and started taking it..and within 10 days, my PROGRESSION OF VITILIGO STOPPED..I WANT TO SHARE THIS WITH THE WORLD..but unfortunately, I still have the old patches, all over my body that were developed within a period of three months..My face was spared fortunately..But the patches are there in my hands and feet.

Since then, I have been trying several different medicines over the net..This includes Kalawalla,Chinese medicine,REcoulor,Shah's Homeopathic medicine, Ayurvedic medicine from KErala(which helped a little bit)...Ayurvedic medicine and Recoulor darkened my whole body a little bit!!!and pigmented some areas, a little bit.!! nothing helped so far really..nothing harmed as well!!!Recently, I got the Novitil and the Anti-vitiligo cream..I have started using..

The only other treatment that helped me is hte Narrowband UVB treatment..I was taking it in a local clinic when I got a job change to a new area  where there is no such clinic available..Poor me!! I finally paid *** to buy a home photo therapy system for Narrowband UVB..This is perhaps the most effective treatment for vitiligo in my opinion. The treatment is little bit effective and it is pigmenting most of the areas where the haris have NOT turned white..Bony surfaces are also a little tough.

I am tired of writing..I think I can write a book on my war with Vitiligo..If any of of you need my additional info, pl send a email to IOWA111@hotmail.com

Good luck in your fight with Vitiligo..Remember, if your vitiligo has just started, start taking need tablets so that it will not spread further..Then start your treatment for the existing ones...

Thanks Guys..

Jay
