If I wanted something badly enough, I possessed the ability to take advantage of these opportunities.

Q: I do not feel happy with the use of "badly enough." Can you help me understand this? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Q: I do not feel happy with the use of "badly enough." Can you help me understand this?

As explained, it's a way of expressing 'degree'.There's nothing wrong with saying 'badly enough'. It suggests that you want something so much that you are willing to accept some form of pain/trouble/inconvenience in order to achieve it.

Best wishes, Clive
