Wanted: Speakers of Scots

Hi all!

I'm a student of English at Leyden University and currently I'm following a course, "English Around the Globe", in which I have to do a survey among speakers of Scots English in which I have to find out the definition of Standard Scots English. It's essential in this survey to reach as many people as possible and examine their opinions in a questionnaire of about 5 to 10 min.s.

So, my question is whether there are any speakers of Scots around who want to share their opinions on Scots in a questionnaire. Every opinion matters and hopefully this call reaches to many people and their friends and family from Scotland! If you're interested to have a look at the questionnaire, I can send you an example version.

Please, don't hesitate and many thanks in advance (advice is welcome too, of course)!

Kind regards,

Paul

Sounds like an interesting course. Sorry I can't help you as I'm English, but have you seen this site:

Hey, that's great, thanks a lot (the course is very interesting indeed)!

There is a small possibility that I can't find enough speakers of Scots, in which case I might consider to examine Standard English English, so, who knows, may be you can still help, but that site you gave could be very useful indeed, thanks again!

By the way, is your location correct (the Netherlands), and if so, what does an Englishwoman do in Holland, and where in the Netherlands are you staying, if I may ask?

Thx,

Paul

Hi Paul,
I live in Almere, am a freelance English teacher (most of my students are Dutch business people), and am married to a wonderful 'kaaskop' - also called Paul! Just let me know if you need any help with Standard English English.
