1. Is it OK to say the following?

"Sorry for keeping you waiting. Was I too long?"

2. Is it OK to ask, "was I too long" when I use longer time to finish something (e.g. making a speech)

Thanks

I think the more common way to ask this is:

Did I take too long?

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I think this is what you're looking for:

I hope the wait wasn't too long

Hi,

'Was I too long?' is OK.

Also common is 'Did I take too long?'

Best wishes, Clive

Hi, Clive.

Is it OK to say the following?

"Was I too long for the speech I just made?"

"Was I too long for keeping you waiting?"

Of course, I may also say, "was my speech too long".

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Is it OK to say the following?

"Was I too long for the speech I just made?"

"Was I too long for keeping you waiting?"

No. 'For' does not work here. You might naturally say -

Was I too long (in) making my speech?

Was I too long? Did I keep you waiting?

Did I keep you waiting too long?

Of course, I may also say, "was my speech too long". Yes.

This one works well for me.  I can't think of another one!
