Hi,

Two separate subjects, so say 'were'.

Best wishes, Clive

Please don't highlight your black text in blue. It's rather hard to read.

You are talking about two things, right? The quality of the borrower AND the borrower's ability to meet the payments. (Although what the quality of the borrower is, I'm not sure.) Anyway, with two things, you need a plural verb, were.

<edited: Please don't post the same thing twice. I have merged the thread.>

Thanks for all your help.

I apologise for the duplicate posting; it was a genunine mistake. With regards, to the blue background. I have dyspraxia and this is the reason for that. I will, however, use a white background from now on.

Thanks again!

Warmest Regards...

You can also make the font larger if that helps you to read it.

You're welcome.

Hi you!

if you are looking for the explanation how to use WAS and WERE

here is:

you will use Was (the verb is in past form, when you use was you are talking about just 1 person, thing or Animal)

for Example:

                       Present Form                                                       Past Form

Personal Pronoun        Verb to be                        Personal Pronoun            Verb to be

                   I                                  am                                      I                                      was

                 You                                are                                    you                                     were

               He/ She/ it                       is                                     She/ He/ it                           were

               We                                  are                                      We                                   were

               They                              are                                       They                              Were

Note :          Was  = is something you did in the PAST  (1 person/Singular)

Were = is something you and your friends did in the PAST (2 o More People/Plural)

                   I was  eating a hamburguer

Michael, I and Rosy were playing Pocker last night.

Michael, I ,Rosy = They (Personal Pronoun)

if you have any question please do let me know
