Hi,
Although I know my English is poor, I would like you to listen to my recording and tell me how do you find my accent and whether this what I was talking about is understandable at all. I was trying to speak as I normally do, at school, while meeting somebody - not writing on some piece of paper what Im going to say or whatever Big Smile [:D] Just tell me whether it is understandable for a native English speaker (or just a person learning English), cause I have no opportunity to go to Britain or any other English-speaking country in case of talking with some natives.
It is about this article http://www.simpleenglishnews.com/21666holmes.shtml

Here is the recording

Thanks in advance friends,
Chris.

Hi Chris,
Right now your speech seems rather flat. Since English is a stress timed language you need to stress the most important words in each sentence. The other words can be reduced (as you are saying them now).

The first thing you could do to improve the way you sound is to stress the most important words in each sentence or 'thought group'. I have bolded these in the text below.

Also pause briefly between each thought group as indicated by the /.

Actress Katie Holmes/ completed the New York City Marathon/ on Sunday

Tom Cruise's wife/ joined thousands of other people/ to take part in the 42-kilometer race

Cruise and their daughter Suri /waited at the finish line/ for Holmes to complete the race

Paula Radcliffe, /who gave birth to a baby nine months ago/, won the race.

I can't comment on your pronunciation since I'm a lerner too but I find your accent(whatever accent you have - french maybe?) is totally sexy and I think you don't have to try to sound like native speakers of English...
